When we talk of today’s professional baseball, we should not neglect the amateur baseball which is considered as the oldest form of the organized baseball. Many of the greatest professional baseball players started their careers in amateur baseball before being a member of the professional teams. The most common amateur leagues contains those organized for young people. Little league, established in 1939, is an organization which runs baseball programs in communities in lots of countries. Boys and girls from 5 to 18 years old can play little league.
