The post-season playoffs could be played among eight outstanding teams, six division champions and two wild-cards. To be a division champion is far from easy, it is not the case that the league with the best record would be the champion, three round of series of games must be played to determine which one will be at last.

In the first two rounds, the better-seeded team has home-field advantage, regardless of record. The team belonging to the league that won the mid-season All-Star Game receives home-field advantage in the World Series. However, “home-field advantage” theoretically does not make some sense unless the series goes to its maximum number of games. But if the team with home-field advantage wins the first two home games, they would have a very good winning chance for the rest of the Series.
